This video is profound and the decision necessary. I joined the Church in 1962 and changed churches in the early 1970’s because God’s kingdom included everyone and the Church did not. With this change, and better understanding of the “authority” of the Priesthood of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, I am back. With this change, I accept God’s authorized Priesthood for all. What a wonderful change 1978 brought to LDS.

Wow! Is it possible to love people you haven’t even met? You bet it is! I am so amazed at the spirit of the people in this video. They are, in the very fullest sense, Latter Day Saints. I love them, and I love all of those who are willing to set aside heresay to seek for those things that are good. I wish our churhes were much more full of Black Saints. Not only are they not under some curse of Cain, I suspect that many of them were among the most faithful of the faithful…they had to be.

I’ll never forget the day this new revelation was announced. I was sitting in my office at the University of Redlands and heard it on the radio. Moments later, one of the non-Mormon women who worked with me, a young African-American, knocked on my door with a work-related question. She must have thought I had gone completely mad when I rushed over, tears streaming down my face, and embraced her. I am so grateful for those who put together this video as it brought back that wonderful moment–one of the truly defining experiences of my youth. We thank thee, Oh God, for a true Prophet–a man who was able to set aside over a century of tradition in order to hear the still, small Voice.
